QSI/NUtech SBW - Notebook DVD-Combo Firmware

Disclaimer: Use it on your own risk. Make sure that bad flashing can destroy your drive completly. ALL FLASHINGS ARE A RISK FOR THE DRIVE!

Good news for all users of the QSI/NU SBW with yet unpatched firmware. I have created a tool that made the firmware by the user.

DRIVEAuto PatcherSystemRemarks
QSI/NU SBWxx1AUTOQSI1DOSUnpack this to a Bootdisk boot it and run "autoqsi1"
QSI/NU SBW242AUTOQSI2DOSUnpack this to a Bootdisk boot it and run "autoqsi2"
If you use a own bootdisk make sure that more than 1MB free space for backup and new firmware.
QSI/NU SBWxxxAUTOQSICD 1.03BOOTCDContains both autopatcher but use it with care because the backup can't stored for later restore

I suggest to not use the files below to make the drive only free. This are only interesting if you want upgrade the drive if you have other problems.

I was often asked how to change the Master/Slave setting of the QSI Drives?

The official QSI Flashtools has a undocumented commandline switch to change this setting.

/Tmmaster
/Tsslave
/Tccable select
/Trreverse csel

Flashing your drive! (Works only witch real DOS-MODE)

Create a Bootdisk and unzip Flashtool and a firmware to the root directory of the bootdisk.
Boot the system from the disk
First you should make a backup of your current Firmware

A:\> QFSBW081 /OR /Fbackup.bin (Enter)

Now open the file with an HexViewer/Editor and search for "QSI01" after this you find the complete firmware version. IMHO no tool shows this. Download the patched version. Please switch off your computer and start again to flash the new firmware

A:\> QFSBW081 /Ffile.bin (Enter)

The drive will now flashed.
If the flash ended you can reboot the system with new firmware.

If you have an other firmware please make only the backup and send it to me.
